Clinical Psychology Service
Clinical Psychology Service is devoted to the provision of quality clinical services to clients with mental health issues both in the hospital and in the community. The service is sensitive to the needs of the clients, and covers the whole spectrum of inpatient, ambulatory and community care. It includes also mental health education and liaison, working with the family and partnership with Government and Non-Government agencies.
Scope of Services
- Assessment
To provide psychological assessments including neuropsychological, intellectual, behavioural, personality and diagnostic assessments.
- Intervention
To provide evidence-based psychological interventions for specific disorders for the purpose of enhancing patients’ coping, adaptation and functioning, and reducing their distress.
- Training and Consultation
To provide relevant training and consultation services to medical, nursing and allied health professionals on matters related to clinical psychology.
- Mental Health Education
To promote mental health education through various means in the community.
- Research
To conduct systematic investigations on the effectiveness of our clinical services and to conduct scientific studies on psychopathology.
Procedures for Service Arrangement
Clinical Psychology Service, in general, will be provided upon referrals from psychiatrists in Kwai Chung Hospital.
